| The Hanover Township Fire Department joined fellow first responders, families, and members of the community on Sunday, October 11, 2026, for the Annual Hanover Township Blue Mass, held at 9:30 AM at Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church in Buttonwood.
The annual Blue Mass serves as a special opportunity to recognize the dedication, courage, and selfless service of the men and women who protect and serve Hanover Township in the Police Department, Fire Department, and Ambulance Association. Through prayer and reflection, the Mass offered blessings for our firefighters, police officers, emergency medical personnel, and all first responders who answer the call to serve their community each day.
This year's service also held special significance as we paused to honor and remember four members of the Hanover Township Fire Department who passed away within the last year:
- Harry Wood
- Richard Jarus
- William "Billy" Lynch
- Daniel Haefele
These individuals dedicated portions of their lives to the fire service and their community, leaving behind a legacy of commitment, brotherhood, and service that will not be forgotten. Their contributions to the Hanover Township Fire Department will forever remain a part of our department's proud history.
The Blue Mass provides an important reminder of the sacrifices made by those who serve, the families who support them, and the lasting bonds shared throughout the emergency services community.
The Hanover Township Fire Department extends its sincere appreciation to Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church for hosting this meaningful annual tradition, as well as to everyone who attended to show their support for our first responders and to honor the memory of our departed members.
May God continue to watch over and protect all first responders, and may our departed brothers rest in eternal peace. |
