| Members of the Hanover Township Fire Department (HTFD) recently participated in a comprehensive vehicle rescue training focused on both passenger and commercial vehicle incidents. The hands-on training was hosted at Falzone’s Towing, providing an ideal setting to work with a variety of real-world scenarios and vehicle types.
HTFD members were joined by firefighters from the Laurel Run Volunteer Fire Department, strengthening inter-agency coordination and teamwork. This fared well for both Departments as we frequently work together on incidents involving entrapments and various other vehicle related emergencies on the famed "Giant's Despair" that runs through Laurel Run Borough, where the HTFD serves as a Mutual Aid Rescue Unit. Throughout the day, crews rotated through multiple rescue scenarios designed to challenge their skills in stabilization, extrication techniques, and patient access in complex situations involving both standard passenger vehicles and larger commercial units.
This valuable training allowed members to refine critical rescue skills, improve communication on the fireground, and stay prepared for the diverse emergencies they may encounter in the community.
The department extends a special thank you to Chuck and the crew at Falzone’s Towing for their support and for providing the space, vehicles, and resources that made this training possible. Their continued partnership plays an important role in helping ensure first responders are equipped and ready to serve. |
