Quick Work Made of Well Involved Vehicle Fire

The Hanover Township Fire Department responded swiftly to a vehicle fire that broke out on Interstate 81 South Bound near mile marker 161 early this morning, at approximately 12:30 am . Firefighters arrived on the scene within minutes to find a passenger van engulfed in flames.

Upon simultaneous arrival of Engine 1 and Engine 2, an 1.75" trash line was stretched to begin extinguishment with a POK Nozzle. An additional 1.75" handline was deployed as well as a backup line to help extinguish the flames. The fire was brought under control within approximately 15 minutes preventing it from spreading to nearby dry vegetation and brush. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
