Shortly after noon time, HTFD crews were dispatched to the report of a two vehicle crash with confinement in the vicinity of the UFCW Federal Credit Union on the Sans Souci Parkway. Rescue 5 and Engine 1 quickly responded. One of the vehicles involved rolled over onto its side, leaving the driver confined inside. Firefighters quickly arrived on scene and assessed the situation, confirming that the driver was confined within the vehicle.
Crews quickly stabilized the vehicle utilizing ResQJak Struts and went to work freeing the occupant. Utilizing the Ryno tool, firefighters worked to safely cut through the windshield, creating an escape route for the driver. After successfully freeing the driver, they were carefully turned over to the care of Hanover Township Medic 9 for further treatment and transport to an area hospital. Hanover Township Fire Police provided traffic control to allow for a safe area for rescue crews to operate. Our crews were on scene to ensure the safety of all involved and assist in clearing the wreckage. The crash is currently under investigation by Hanover Township Police. We want to remind all drivers to stay alert and practice safe driving habits, especially in adverse conditions.
